Amandine Hesse is a French tennis player. Hesse has won three singles and three doubles titles on the ITF tour in her career. On 9 May 2016, she reached her best singles ranking of world number 154. On 2 May 2016, she peaked at world number 108 in the doubles rankings.

2. Klára Koukalová


Klára Koukalová is a Czech tennis player. She was born and still lives in Prague. Koukalová made her Grand Slam debut at the 2003 Australian Open, defeating fellow qualifier and Grand Slam debutante Maria Sharapova in the first round before going on to upset sixth-seed Monica Seles in the second round. Koukalová's run ended in the third round.On 6 June 2006, Klára married Czech footballer Jan Zakopal, but they divorced in January 2014. From June 2006 to March 2014, she used her married name Zakopalová while competing, switching back to Koukalová in April 2014.

Maria Yuryevna Kirilenko-Stepanova is a Russian tennis player. Kirilenko won the 2002 U.S. Open Girls' Singles and won her first WTA Tour title in 2005, defeating Anna-Lena Grönefeld in the China Open. She has reached three Grand Slam singles quarterfinals, at the 2010 Australian Open the 2012 Wimbledon Championships and the 2013 French Open. In doubles, she has reached two Grand Slam doubles finals, at the 2011 Australian Open and the 2012 French Open, won the 2012 WTA Tour Championships and was a bronze medalist at the 2012 London Olympics. In June 2013, Kirilenko reached her career high ranking of World No. 10.

Maria Yuryevna Sharapova is a Russian professional tennis player. A United States resident since 1994, Sharapova has competed on the WTA tour since 2001. She has been ranked world No. 1 in singles by the WTA on five separate occasions, for a total of 21 weeks. She is one of ten women, and the only Russian, to hold the career Grand Slam. She is also an Olympic medalist, having earned silver for Russia in women's singles at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.In March 2016, Sharapova revealed she had failed a drug test at the 2016 Australian Open, admitting to testing positive for meldonium, a substance banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) at the start of 2016. On June 8, 2016, she was suspended from playing tennis for two years by the International Tennis Federation.






5. Sorana Mihaela Cîrstea


Sorana Mihaela Cîrstea is a Romanian professional tennis player. She achieved her career-high ranking of World No. 21 on 12 August 2013 and has appeared in the quarterfinals of the French Open and the final of the Rogers Cup. Cîrstea is a power player with a deceptively good serve. Her groundstroke’s are often erratic with an emphasis on going for a winner leading her to make a high amount of unforced errors per match but with a high number of winners. According to the Tennis Spy, she does not appear to be fast around the court, but actually is deceptively quick covering the ground with her long strides and good reading of the game. As a good doubles player, she is also a very solid volleyed, and also has solid groundstrokes. Her forehands and backhands are delivered quickly on both sides.

6. Sania Mirza


 Sania Mirza is an Indian professional tennis player who is currently ranked No. 1 in the women's doubles rankings.  From 2003 until her retirement from singles in 2013, she was ranked by the Women's Tennis Association as India's No. 1 player, both in singles and doubles. Throughout her career, Mirza has established herself as the most successful female Indian tennis player ever and one of the highest-paid and high-profile athletes in the country. In addition, she is the third Indian woman in the Open Era to feature and win a round at a Grand Slam tournament (going as far as the last 16). She has also won a total of 14 medals (including 6 Gold) at three major multi-sport events, namely the Asian Games, the Commonwealth Games and the Afro-Asian Games.

7. Eugenie "Genie" Bouchard 


Eugenie "Genie" Bouchard is a Canadian professional tennis player who is currently ranked no. 42 in the world. At the 2014 Wimbledon Championships, Bouchard became the first Canadian to reach the finals of a Grand Slam in singles, finishing runner-up to Petra Kvitová. She also reached the semifinals of the 2014 Australian Open and 2014 French Open, and won the 2012 Wimbledon girls' title. Following the end of the 2013 WTA Tour, she was named WTA Newcomer of the Year. The next year, Bouchard received the WTA Most Improved Player award for the 2014 season.

8. Ana Ivanovic


Ana Ivanovic is a Serbian professional tennis player who as of February 22, 2016 is ranked No. 25 in the world by the Women's Tennis Association. Ranked No. 1 in the world in 2008, she beat Dinara Safina to win the 2008 French Open, was the runner-up at the 2007 French Open  and the 2008 Australian Open. She also qualified for the annual WTA Tour Championships three times, in 2007, 2008 and 2014 and won the year-end WTA Tournament of Champions twice, in 2010 and 2011.

9. Mandy Minella 


Mandy Minella is a Luxembourgish tennis player. Minella has won two doubles titles on the WTA tour, as well as nine singles and five doubles titles on the ITF tour in her career. On 17 September 2012, she reached her best singles ranking of world number 66. On 29 April 2013, she peaked at world number 47 in the doubles rankings.

10. Caroline Wozniacki 


Caroline Wozniacki is a Danish professional tennis player. She is a former world No. 1 on the WTA Tour, having held this position for 67 weeks. She was the first woman from a Scandinavian country to hold the top ranking position and 20th overall.
